A warm hello in what will probably be my last letter to you in 2021. I hope you are all adjusting to this post-pandemic world sure of the closeness and providence of God.
The pictures in the November report speak for themselves. Thanks for helping bring the word and the love of God to such remote corners of the earth. Please keep praying for a good harvest and fair market prices at our farm in northwest Mexico. The signs are good!
Check out the pictures of Father Luis Francisco’s community in eastern Nicaragua. It is about as far away from civilization as you can get. Father Luis Francisco was ordained in December 2020. In his parish there are practically no roads, he has to get everywhere by boat. His churches and chapels have dirt floors, and his people – even his bishop! – are too poor to support him. The East of Nicaragua is home to the descendants of English pirates and runaway slaves. It is cut off from the rest of the country by swamps and thick rainforests, with no road in or out. And yet, the light of the Gospel is there!
At the end of this year, please consider supporting a priest like Father Luis Francisco. We are currently helping 6 priests like him with $7 a day. That is not a fortune in Nicaragua, but it makes a world of difference.
You will also enjoy the pictures of the new parish opened in Kaoma in Zambia (southern Africa). Many of you live in places where churches are being closed or clustered together. Can you imagine opening new churches because the people don’t fit in the old ones? Great hope for 2022!
Advent is upon us. May the Lord fill your heart, too, with hope for 2022. Not because this or that will happen, but because He loves you. That will be my 2022 prayer for you and your family.
